Francesc Torres was born in Barcelona. Lives in New York since 1974. Taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and the Instituto de Estetica y Teoria de las Artes there. A regular contributor to the Spanish daily El Pais. Exhibited at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington D.C., the Capp Street Project in San Francisco, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art in California, and the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh.

Francesc Torres urodził się w Barcelonie. Od 1974 roku mieszka w Nowym Jorku. Uczył w School of Visual Arts w Nowym Jorku, Circulo de Bellas Artes w Madrycie oraz Instituto de Estetica y Teoria de las Artes w Madrycie. Regularnie pisuje do hiszpańskiej gazety ăEl PaisÓ. Wystawiał w Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden w Waszyngtonie, Capp Street Project w San Francisco, Whitney Museum of American Art w Nowym Jorku, La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art w Kalifornii, Carnegie Institute w Pittsburgu.
