PAUL BADURA-SKODA - AUSTRIA

Completed his piano studies at the conservatory in Vienna and then continued them with Edwin Fischer by attending piano master classes held in Lucerne. Prize-winner at international music competitions, among others at the M.Long-J.Thibaud in Paris (1949). He is an outstanding interpreter of works by Mozart and Schubert. He made over 200 records, among others with complete piano sonatas by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Gives concerts all over the world as soloist and chamber music player. He cooperated with the major conductors and both European and American orchestras. Holds master piano classes at the music festivals in Edinburgh, Salzburg and Vienna. He is concerned with piano playing also as a theoretician and has written works on the interpretation of Mozart's and Bach's music on keyboard instruments.
