Graduate of the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw, she completed her studies at it with honours having been taught by Prof. Margerita Trombini-Kazuro. Winner of the 2nd prize at the 6th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1949 and of the Prix Chopin at the M.Long - J. Thibaud International Competition in Paris in 1953. Has been playing the world's major concert halls. Made many concert tours with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish Radio and Television Orchestra, that of the Pomeranian Philharmonic. Participated in international music festivals: "Wienner-Festwochen", "Praske Jaro", "Warsaw Autumn" and at the Chopin festivals in Duszniki, Marienbad, Ghent, Gaming. Since 1963 she has been engaged in pedagogic work as well, till 1973 at the Higher School of Music in Wroclaw and since then at the Music Academy in Warsaw. Has been conducting master classes in Warsaw, Helsinki, Havana, Tokyo, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Druskienniki, Sydney. She was juror at the piano competitions in Leeds, Warsaw, Szumen, Palm Beach, Sofia, Moscow, Taipeh, Tokyo, Peiping, Bangkok, Paris, Vilnius, Barcelona. Made numerous disc and radio recordings among which one of the most valuable is that of Chopin's complete Mazurkas.
