Studied the piano and composition under Iguchi Motonari and Iguchi Akiko. In 1960-64 he continued his studies in Munich with Rosel Schmid. Winner of the first prize and of the special one at the 25th Music Competition held by the Mainichi and NHR radio stations. At the International Chopin Competition in 1960 he was given an Honorary Diploma. Gave numerous concerts appearing with the world's major orchestras. He was member of the 20th Century Music Institute and was very active in the field of contemporary music. In 1967 he founded the Bach Cantata Ensemble of which he bacame the conductor. Has been popularizing cantata and oratorio works by among others Bach, Telemann, Vivaldi. As a chamber music player he appeared with Leonid Kogan, Josef Suk, Pierre Fournier and other distinguished musicians. He was juror at many international piano competitions, among others in Tokyo, Hamamatsu, Geneva, Calgary.
