Studied the piano under Anna Hirzel-Langenham and Rudolf Serkin, and the organ with Wolfgang Auler and Albert Schweitzer. Prize-winner at the 3rd International Chopin Piano Competition in 1937. She appeared with many recitals in Europe and non-European countries. Has been taking part in international music festivals. She conducts the piano class and teaches the history of keyboard instruments. Made numerous recordings for Philips, Erato, Camerata Tokyo, Aurophon.
