OF THE 13th INTERNATIONAL FREDERICK CHOPIN PIANO COMPETITIONS IN WARSAW
The Jury of The 13th Chopin International Piano Competition, acting in accordance with the Competition Rules, at the final sitting have decided:

The winners of the prizes are given the title of The Laureats of the 13th Chopin International Piano Competition held in Warsaw.
The Jury awarded acknowledgements to the four best contestants of the 3rd round, in the order drawn from the number of gained points:
- Nelson GOERNER (36) Argentina - 3,500 USD
- Nami EJIRI (26) Japan - 3,500 USD
- Andrey PONOCHEVNY (93) Belorussia - 3,500 USD
- Katia SKANAVI (106) Russia - 3,500 USD
The remaining contestants of the 3rd round will be given the Diplomas of Honour:
- Andrew ARMSTRONG (4) USA
- Maurizio BAGLINI (7) Italy
- Luigi CARTIA (14) Italy
- Roberto COMINATI (19) Italy
- Libby YU (134) Canada
The Jury have decided not to award the prizes of The Frederick Chopin Society for the best performance of a polonaize, of the Polish Radio for the best performance of a mazurka, and of the National Philharmony for the best performance of a concert.
